Call context
Note the time, displayed number and purpose of the call. Separate the caller’s claims from independently verifiable facts. Mentioning a familiar company does not establish affiliation with it.
Use a separate channel
If the caller claims to represent an organisation, find its contact through a source you already know. Do not treat a dictated address as the sole confirmation. A bot lookup may add context but does not authenticate the caller.
Avoid premature conclusions
A matching name does not establish who was speaking. Do not publish an accusation based on one record. Keep a distinction between information you found and an event you verified.
